Feng shui tips-To make your bedroom the best it can be

Whether you believe in feng shui or not, everyone has had the experience of walking into a place that 'feels good'.
Do you feel the same when you come to your bedroom?
Can feng shui help us make bedroom the best it can be?
Feng shui can help us create the space around our house the best it can be, including our bedroom.

What is a feng shui bedroom?
A feng shui bedroom is cozy, comfortable, intimate, serene, sensual and deeply restful.
Feng shui for the bedroom focuses on serenity which can be achieved through subtle lighting, peaceful colors, and comfortable furnishings.
A good Feng Shui bedroom is a bedroom that promotes a harmonious flow of nourishing and sensual energy.
It is a bedroom that invites you, lures you in, excites and calms at the same time.
A good Feng Shui bedroom is fun and pleasurable to be in, either you are there for a quick nap, a good night sleep etc

How to make your bedroom the best it can be?

These feng shui tips can help you create a dream come true bedroom.

Bedroom Fengshui
  1. When thinking about the bedroom, one of the most important principles is determining the placement of the bed in the command position, a power position that provides a view of the door,
  2. prevents surprise, and gives control of an environment.
  3. Decorate your bedroom with pairs of objects.
  4.  Mirrors are not the ideal piece of furniture for a bedroom. If you have some in there already, then cover them up. Never position a mirror anywhere it can reflect your bed. This can create relationship problems caused by a third party.
  5.  Televisions can also lead to infidelities, so move that TV out of your bedroom.
  6.  Avoid positioning your bed inline with your door or under a window. You should also have one side of your bed supported by a solid wall in order to get a good nights sleep.
  7.  To promote a healthy relationship, or to attract a new partner, place your bed so that it is accessible on three sides.
  8.  Keep objects that don't have to do with romance out of the bedroom. This includes exercise equipment and work-related items. Instead, decorate the room with lots of pictures of you and your partner.
  9.  While pink, white and red are the key colors associated with this gua, red is also the color of anger. If you choose to decorate your room in these colors, go light with the red. In particular, avoid red bed sheets. Feng shui is not just about redecorating; it is also a way of life. If you would like to know more and understand feng shui better, then consider taking some feng shui courses.
  10. You shouldn’t sleep with a beam or with another objects such as a wind chime or threshold light place right too deep. This will cause anybody to have unwell sleeps. Staircases are just like beams; as a result it is deficient for door to take care of a stairway directly. This could have an impact on family harmony and financial circumstances.
  11. Ideally the bedroom should be at the back of the house with no strong energy. Wherever your bed is placed you should be able to see the door of the room, and should not see a sleeping image of yours in any mirror in the room. Keep only a single book that you are reading on the bed side table.
  12. Keep clothes nicely folded and kept inside cupboards. Do not stack too many items under the bed as that gives restless sleep at night.
  13. For inviting romance in your life, paint the room in shades of pink or keep more objects of pink in your room. Do not paint it peach as that invokes infidelity. Nice candles and items in pairs, like decorative statues and beautiful masks are ideal and so are keeping your head towards a wall while sleeping
  14. In general, pink is considered to be one of the best colors for the bedroom because it is the color associated with relationships.
  15. Light blues and light greens are positive colors for a bedroom as well as small accent colors of red. Green represents tranquility, hope and freshness as seen in spring growth or that of a new plant or leaf.
  16.  Many Chinese stay away from having white blankets on their beds because it is similar to the shroud that covers the dead and fear sleep will seem like death. Although, plain white sheets or white sheets with flowers or colorful designs are fine.
  17. The use of pink or red sheets and blankets are used by those seeking to get married or by newlyweds to ensure wedding bliss.
Feng Shui is not only furniture placement and interior decoration but knowing your universe and surroundings better to get positive changes from within.

Feng shui tips- To make your home the best it can be

For thousands of years the Chinese have applied the principals of Feng Shui to create auspicious energy flow within their surroundings. Feng shui shows us how our spaces can be designed and re-arranged in order to provide us the right balance and harmony.

This ancient Chinese art helps you live in harmony with your surroundings. Placing particular elements and colors to achieve positive and negative (yin and yang) flow in certain areas of your home or office to achieve the balance of energy (also called the flow of chi) in any given space.

In house Feng Shui, good chi has good health, powerful and balanced. Poor Chi is vulnerable, sickly and imbalanced. By changing or modifying furniture placement at our houses, we can easily improve Chi. Therefore we can balance and enhance our life circumstances minimizing stress and hassle.

Feng Shui can facilitate the balance of issues such as: health and family, wealth and prosperity, fame and reputation, love and marriage, children and creativity, helpful people, travel, career, knowledge and self-cultivation.
Feng shui tips- "To make your home the best it can be "
  •  Creating a warm and inviting front entrance. Not only will this help you feel happy to be home, but it will also help your guests to relax when they come to visit.
  •  To help energy flow more freely through your entranceway, keep all shoes and slippers away from the main door.
  •  To add the illusion of more space to your living quarters, hang a mirror on the wall. This will also help to invite endless opportunities into your home.
  •  Keep things fresh in your home and help the energy to flow by changing the position of your furniture periodically.
  •  It is not just rooms that have an element associated with them, but also objects. If you want to avoid disagreements within your family, then consider moving your stove so that it is not across from the refrigerator, a washing machine, a sink or a toilet.
  • Colors in Feng Shui should be soothing rather than restless. Painting the walls in softer blues or greens both balances out your chi and improves your focus. Artwork and photos  should ideally have gold or silver frames rather than black ones. The direction your wall hangings face should often be facing north or west according to your chi number.
  • The right Feng Shui arrangement at work can improve both your productivity and positive energy. One good habit is to clear away extra clutter on a regular basis. A clean work space eliminates distractions and can help to reduce stress levels.
  • Plants have an important role in a successful Feng Shui arrangement at home or at the office. They help to balance out energy disruptions that can result from electronic devices. Although a recommended Feng Shui practice is to work away from computer monitors, this is not always possible in many office environments. An additional item to include in a successful Feng Shui arrangement is water. This element represents flows of both wealth and spiritual harmony. A water element of Feng Shui can be a photo or painting of a waterfall, a small stone fountain, or even a bowl of clear water placed in a patch of sunlight.
  • Another simple step for Feng Shui is to place your primary work desk or table so you are facing an open door or window. This practice allows ideas to come to you easily. Natural sunlight from a window also has a rejuvenating effect on the mind.

Interesting yo-yo shapes and designs

It is one of the favorite toys for kids and kids love to play with it. Although it is originally designed for children but adults also enjoy very much while playing with yo-yo. Yo-yo is available in various shapes and designs.
Imperial shape
Yo-yo Shapes

Yo-yos are available in several silhouettes that are designed with specific advantages. There are three popular yo-yo shapes.
Imperial: Imperial shape is very common shape and considered as original shape of yo-yo. It is also known as sculpted design. This shape is helpful in performing looping tricks. “Pedro Flores” was the first producer of this shape of yo-yo but in 1929 “Duncan” bought the rights of this design.

Modified:
This shape is so famous for looping style tricks. This shape is also famous as flywheel or modern shape. This type of yo-yo typically has hollowed face which is sometimes covered with paper or plastic with extra material left in the rim. Modified shaped yo-yo gives you long spin time so it is famous for string tricks.

Butterfly:
Butterfly shape
Butterfly shaped yo-yo was first time introduced in 1958. Butterfly yo-yo has wider string gap which make it convenient to catch yo-yo body on the string. It looks a bit like separated halves of a standard yo-yo that have ability to reconnect back-to-back. But there is a problem that butterfly shape is good for “string tricks” but not good for “looping tricks” because the winged shape body restricts its easy flip while looping. Butterfly shape is similar to small “Diabolo” and sometimes also called “Chinese yo-yo.

Modern Yo-Yo Shapes
Yo-yoing community introduced several yo-yos with wide-gaps, H-shapes and dimples.
Wide-Gap Yo-Yos:  Wide-gap yo-yos are not exclusive and have wider gapes. These gapes allow more layers of strings to be stacked in yo-yo and slack or lacerations in string also allow several tricks. This shape has drawback that it doesn’t return to player’s hand without bound through the use of front or under mount.

H-shaped Yo-Yos: These yo-yos have too much similarity with butterfly-shaped but center toward bearing/axle is offset to a smaller diameter to add to circumferential weight and allow easy “grinding tricks”. Dimples Yo-Yos:  Italian yo-yo manufacturer “Roo-Yo” utilizes golf ball technology in yo-yo. This technology produces dimples in yo-yo to reduce air friction.

Other less popular shapes of yo-yos are Humphrey, Ball, Slimline, Russell Style (Bulge Face), Puck, Satellite, Coaster and Riveted Disk.

Interesting facts about yo-yo

Interesting facts about yo-yo

The most interesting fact about the yo-yo is that 'The yoyo is one of the world’s oldest toys. It actually comes in second place, behind the doll.'

  • Yo-yos are now one of the hottest toy collectibles and many models have values in the 100’s even thousands of dollars.
  • The earliest surviving yo-yo dates to 500 BCE and was made using terra cotta skin disks.
  • In 1978, dentist and yo-yo celebrity Tom Kuhn patented the “No Jive 3-in-1” yo-yo, creating the world's first "take-apart" yo-yo, which enabled yo-yo players to change the axle.
  • Originally manufacturing yo-yos from wood, yo-yo technology improved in the 1960s when the industry switched to plastic. Benefits of a plastic yo-yo include the uniform weight distribution only possible with plastic, as the natural variations in wood density are undesirable for an even spin.
  • The 1980’s were an important stage for yoyos. The first clutch (come back without pulling) yoyo was invented by the yomega yoyo company and so were the first ball bearing yoyos.
  • The first metal yoyos were created and in the 1990’s the yoyo world championships started.
  • The current highest price paid for a collectible yo-yo is $16,029.00.
  • One of the most famous tricks on the yo-yo is "walk the dog". This is done by throwing a strong sleeper and allowing the yo-yo to roll across the floor, before tugging it back to the hand.
  • English historical names for the yo-yo include bandalore (from French) and quiz. French historical terms include bandalore, incroyable, de Coblenz, emigrette, and joujou de Normandie (joujou meaning little toy)
  • Most modern yo-yos are made from a "take-apart" design, designed to be taken easily apart and reassembled by the player. This design was first created by Tom Kuhn. This enables the replacement of yo-yo components, including the string, renewable friction sources, or even trans-axle components.
  • A number of yo-yo accessories are available as "after-market" modifications—players buy items separately from the yo-yo to augment performance over the original model shipped from the factory.
  • Some yo-yoers have their yo-yo modified (or modded) by themselves or by a yo-yo 'Modder' to achieve desired performance.
  • The operation of a yo-yo comes from rotational inertia causing the string to be wound in the opposite direction returning the yo-yo. When the string is connected to the shaft with a loop, the yo-yo will continue to spin at the end of the string instead of returning, unless the yo-yo is jerked slightly allowing the slack string to bind and allowing return.
  • The World Yo-Yo Contest is held every year in Orlando, Florida and is hosted by YoYoGuy.comduring early August or late July.  This contest takes the winners from national yo-yo contests around the world and pits them against each other.
  • Japanese players in particular have risen to the top of the yo-yo world. The eleven-time, double-handed world champion Shinji Saito—considered the best in the world—is Japanese.
Interesting posts:

Florida Doctor Collects Yo-Yos - Story of 'Meisenheimer' a dermatologist who loves collecting yo-yos. With nearly 6,000, he owns the largest yo-yo collection in the world.

Feng shui self help tips to relieve stress

The way we feel and the way we act is affected in a great amount by the environment which surrounds us. By learning how to properly organize what surrounds us, we can improve our lives. As you learn self help tips to relieve stress you may experience a more well balanced life

The term feng shui means "wind-water" in English. Feng Shui is the system of geomancy believed to use the laws of both Heaven (Chinese astronomy) and Earth to help one improve life by receiving positive qi.
Feng Shui was developed over 3,000 years ago in China. Historically, feng shui was widely used to orient buildings—often spiritually significant structures such as tombs, but also dwellings and other structures—in an auspicious manner.

Feng Shui helps us to balance the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for people inhabiting it. Boosting your Chi and living in harmony with the world’s energy around you alleviates stress and brings peace to you, your home, and the people in it.

Self help tips to relieve stress

1. Decorate with nature. Decorate the surroundings inside your home with aspects of nature to bring yourself peace and relaxation. Feng Shui uses things like running water, fresh flowers, and plants to relieve stress and create a soothing environment. Only use fresh flowers and keep them healthy. Wilted flowers and plants represent tension.

 2. Adjust your lighting. An important part of Feng Shui is the way your room is lit. For an optimum feeling of peace and comfort, as well as a romantic mood, all rooms in your home should be very well lit.

 3. Use colors to create different moods. In Feng Shui, colors represent different emotions. Use the power of color to create a flow of positive emotions within yourself. Choose the colors of your room carefully according to the principles of Feng Shui to create the mood of your choice in your home. * Purple represents spiritual awareness. * Blue is used to create a soothing, relaxing atmosphere. * Red enhances energy.

 4. Use scents to relax. Aromatherapy is often practiced alongside Feng Shui and complements it nicely. Through the use of aromatherapy, you can easily enhance your mood or pull yourself out of a bad one. * Choosing the right aroma for the right room is important. Certain scents promote peace and tranquility, while others increase energy and help you to get pepped up for the tasks you face. Using the proper aroma will remove the negative energy from your presence.

 5. Arrange your furniture and fixtures to support your success. The arrangement of your furniture and the things around you is a large part of Feng Shui. Even the things you have hanging on your walls can make a big difference in your productivity, relaxation, and feelings of security.
 * Remove overhanging shelves and objects. Overhanging shelves, according to Feng Shui principles, are like a cloud hanging over your head. The underlying goal of these principles is to create an environment in your home or office that makes you feel secure, safe, and balanced.
 * Remove as many sharp objects and corners as possible. Sharp objects and corners represent harshness and can hinder your stress relief efforts.

 6. Organize your space. Clutter causes confusion. An organized living or working space promotes calmness and peace within you. An important part of Feng Shui is the order that comes from having everything in its place. You experience peace when everything is where it’s supposed to be and you can find what you need without feeling rushed. Feng Shui is a beautiful art that can relieve your stress and bring an overall feeling of balance into your life. Begin using these strategies today to experience more positive energy in your life and greater levels of productivity.

What is card modeling and how to start this paper crafts hobby?

Card modeling is crafts of folding paper. It is a form of paper crafts like origami with a little difference. Card Modeling or Paper Modeling is the art of creating scale models with paper. Paper or card models are built up from appropriately colored, cut, and folded pieces of paper, usually a stiff card stock( heavy paper).
This article helps you learn about card modeling, features of this paper crafts hobby and how to start with it!

Features of card modeling:
  • Card models are inexpensive compared to plastic models.
  • No specialized or expensive tools are needed.
  • No need of expensive tools like an airbrush for a good finish.
  • The level of detail is very high.
  • Card models are easy to collect in inbuilt condition
  • You don't need much space
  • This hobby is economical.
  • Kits are inexpensive
  • An entire village of scale buildings can be had for less than $10. Some kits are expensive, but even the most expensive are much cheaper than a plastic model of comparable complexity.
  • Card model building is not easy - you often have only one try
  • Paper models can be surprisingly sturdy, and can stand up to handling well. They derive their strength from their structure; even seemingly flimsy paper can be strong when it's shaped properly.

 What is card modeling?

Paper/Card Modeling is, building anything from a 2D paper/card into a 3D scale model.

Basic tools to start this crafts:

Only a few simple tools are necessary for constructing card models.
Scissors, paper cutting knife, white glue, blunt nail and a ruler to score the fold lines. You'll also need cardboard to glue some of the parts on (fuselage formers) for enforcement. You can find most of these tools in office supplies or hobby stores.

Anything can be modeled in paper, but the most common subjects are buildings and vehicles. Buildings are a very popular subject and well suited to the medium. Kits are available of many famous buildings and castles. There are also many kits available in common model railroad scales, suitable for inclusion in a railroad layout. Aircraft and ships both civil and military are also popular.

A brief history of card modeling:

Card modeling goes back to the invention of paper. The Egyptians used papyrus to form parts for the models of their buildings. Likewise for the Chinese, who developed a much better method for making paper. It wasn’t until paper making came to Europe in the 15th century that the forerunner of today’s card models came about. These early models were simple two dimensional drawings on thin paper which were cut out in a rectangular pattern and then pasted onto heavier “card” stock. The early models were printed using wood or copper plates. Therefor the quantity was limited. It stayed that way until 1796 when Alois Senefelder (Munich) perfected the lithography. Now thousands of models could be printed from one plate. Quality and detailing continued to improve to what you see here and there.

How to start this paper crafts hobby?
You can get card modeling kits from nearby hobby shops or stationary zones of any shopping mall. There are many online sites which offer free models to download. You can start creating paper or card models by downloading these models.

Many models are available as kits, with pre-printed pieces to be cut out and assembled by the modeler. It's also possible to build entirely from scratch.
All parts are printed on several sheets and are pre-painted. All you need to do is: Cut out, fold/curve and glue the parts to each other. Detailed assembly instructions and/or exploded views of the different stages of the assembly are supplied with each kit, and some manufacturers supply their own building method/line codes sheet.

Collecting hobbies - antique clocks

Collecting Antiques is a passion.  Many of these antique collections are surprisingly valuable and extremely interesting and valuable. Collecting antique clocks is one of interesting but valuable hobby. Collecting hobbies like stamps, coins or clocks are a part of our history. They reflect the ways things were. Collecting antique clocks can be very addicting!

An antique clock is unusual in the world of antiques in that it is a working piece of art, or should be in order to get the most enjoyment and value. Whether you have just one family clock, or a collection of interesting timepieces, there is much that can be learnt about the craft, particularly when some hundred years or more ago, before machine tools, just about every component of the timepiece was made by hand.

Why do people collect antique clocks?
Antique clocks do offer a lot. They were, in their time, quite sophisticated scientific instruments and certainly individual. They were usually thought of as complex instruments, they were often made by prominent scientists or designed by mathematicians, astronomers or the furniture designers of the day. Clocks were, more or less, hand built.

Clocks represent the best in furniture styles, Chippendale, Hepplewhite and Sheraton, and use the best of materials – oak, ebony, walnut, mahogany and the marquetry of the specialist cabinetmaker.
The dials were often elaborately engraved as if by the finest silversmith, the dials were indeed silvered long before electro-plating was invented. Brass decoration was gilded to demonstrate the wealth and flamboyance of the times and owner. Both cases and dials could be painted to illustrate country life, trade with the Chinese, or voyagers to the four continents. Almost all antique clocks were signed by the individual clockmaker, giving his name and the town where he made the clock. Clocks are indeed fine antiques and represent many facets of history.
.
Antique clocks ar more than just a good looking ornaments, it can also be very good investment. Like all antiques, antique clocks have appreciated in value, some to the point where only today's wealthy can participate.
* There are many types of antique clock and many that are still affordable today, that are available at the local antique store, flea market or web site for those plugged in.
* There is always the antique clocks of a certain time period. If you're just starting out maybe you'll want to start with those that were made in the 1920s or even break up a little further: from the 1920s and from a United States based clock maker.
